7 Students, 1 weekend, and a message of LIFE.
Wow - God really blessed us. The theme for the weekend came out of John 10:10 "I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the full." We were blessed and challenged with thoughts of what this LIFE is (and what it isn't!).
Rob Bell has a new NOOMA video out called Rhythm. He explores the concept of the song that God is calling us to be a part of. Not only is God compassionate, loving and merciful - He also is compassion, love and mercy. When we live in that area, we are living the LIFE that he has for us, and we will then be in tune with the rhythm of God.
On Saturday we went sledding. I think that was the best (biggest) sledding hill that I have ever seen. Too bad there were so many trees at the bottom! (We had only one tree casualty - scrapes and bruises, no broken bones!) It was such a beautiful Colorado day.
Saturday night we watched Hotel Rwanda. What a powerful story. It is something that you should see if you have not already. The question comes up - is it possible to live the LIFE that God has for us, even in the midst of a genocide? The answer comes back, "YES!" We can be surrounded by chaos, and yet be so in touch with the God song that we can be an oasis of peace in the storm.
As the weekend ended, we decided that it was not possible to come away unchanged. We desire to passionately pursue God, to live the abundant LIFE that Jesus has for us, to go where he leads and let Him use us to carry the message of LIFE to everyone around us.
Amen and amen.
